I am frequently asked why I decided to start this tech-savvy real estate company in 2004. I had previously worked for a company with very low transaction fees, a comfortable office and a large following of agents. The main problem was that they did not provide me with any leads/business and after a while, I started to feel like I was “just another number”. During my 2.5 year tenure there, I came across many veteran agents in this business—many of whom were living from transaction to transaction. Many of these same people did not embrace change, nor did they welcome technology—the same technology that offered them the tools to take their business to the next level.
Change of any kind can be uncomfortable however those that don’t embrace it are left to Darwinian theory that goes something like this:
NOT EMBRACING CHANGE = EXTINCTION
The constant changes to the MLS system for example creates a big uproar in the industry. In my former real estate office I heard comments from 20+ year veteran agents saying “Why do they always have to change the system? I just got used to the old one”—-
I don’ t know about you, but Bill Gates would have still been selling his operating system to IBM if he didn’t apply his ideas and embrace technology. Just as he does, we at The Force Realty believe that we are innovating an industry that was left behind in the dark ages.
Our company is taking all the folklore out of how an agent should “behave” or “interact” with a client. We offer our agents the tools to become successful because if our agents don’t prosper, we don’t either!
The internet was a true revolution on how we look and process information. Our company uses the internet to keep our lead flow constant and to keep our overhead to a minimum. We are not in the business of making money off our agents by charging for a fancy office space or franchise fees. We are in the home buying/selling business, not in the agent leasing business. This allows us to stay honest and provide the best support for new and experienced agents in the business.
